The new update of invector melee combat actually broke the way the rolling was working when you have locked on to an enemy. Currently, when you lock on to an enemy and use roll input the player character always rolls forward. Even if you press direction keys and then roll, he still rolls forward. The earlier versions of melee combat asset worked properly. The rolling when strafing was always based on the direction of player input.
How do i fix this in the new versions of the asset ?
vFix:
Open vThirdPersonAnimator and replace line 42 with:

that's odd. What version of the Unity engine are you using ? Could you also tell which version of invector you're using exactly ? a screenshot of the inspector for third person input and third person controller would be helpful.

Another 2017.x bug Well I am using 2017.3 and I do this like a million times when testing the scenes for RPG pack releases. I roll quite a lot xD didn't happen even once. I checked again just because. Can confirm it doesn't happen whether you have locked on or haven't locked on to a target. Could it be that the old animator is still being used even though the package was upgraded ? I tested on the melee demo scene

It happens when you lock-on a punchbag and try to rotate, it only goes forward for some mysterious reason...

Lol just tried. It does happen with a punching bag. But that's odd. It should happen consistently across all enemies since they all derive from vCharacter. Meh. 2017.x bugs lol

So this problem doesn't seem to be fixed. I've been playing with the melee controller adn when locked on, the character rolls towards the enemy when i press the roll button when im a circling the enemy.
Basically roll control doesn't work when locked on.

This bug is still happening in the latest update :( Rolling when strafing makes the character roll towards the enemy itself instead of the direction given by the user.
