Hello all,
Hope you have a good day ! I bought the asset recently and I am playing around with it.
I ve been able to implement all things in my game and it works fine.
One of the "big" changes I want to make, is instead of being stuck in place while you swing your swords, would be being able to keep moving.
Right now, all the attacks in the Animator are in the "full body" part of it.. I would like only the upper body to play the attack animation while the legs keep running in the direction you want.
Is it possible to do this with the standard animations in the asset ? Or should I find new animations that only move the arms ?
I m pretty new to this part so any help will be appreciated !

It's possible by using the standard animations but the results will not be great, not even good enough since they were designed to use fullbody motion, the ideal is for you to replace these (actually all the animations) to make your game look more unique.

Thanks for the quick reply ! I will need to do this anyways in the end, because I wanted to create a variety of different swings that you could combine in anyway you want instead of having pre designed combos... I just wanted to see if there was an easy temporary solution to make a prototype. Thanks again.

The problem with not having preassigned combos is that the transitions between the swings will look like crap. One size defently doesn't fit all here. To do running attack animations you can either move the attack to upperbody layer, give allow movement at .01 (this will cause sliding) or use root motion animations. For instance maximos melee axe animations has run and jump attack. Then add the condition to use the run jump attack when magnitude parameter in the animator is greater then x.
