Is it possible for an AI shooter to use his gun to melee in close range?
Also what is the difference between attack distance and combat distance in the AI shooter control component?

Sure, you just need to do the logic to trigger the attack using the FSM.
The difference is that attack distance is the minimum attack to trigger the attack animation and combat distance is the distance to start strafing around the target
