How to Create An Inventory

I have used the character creator to create an player with my own model, but i cant seem to get the new player to pick up any weapons(Guns) I have followed the tutorial but that is confusing and it doesn't work for me. I think i need to create an inventory but i have no clue how to do that. Any help/advice would be appreciated.

Go to the menu Invector > Inventory > Item Manager (make sure to select your controller in the hierarchy)

Then simply select the Inventory Prefab which you can find in the folder "Invector/Inventory/Prefabs" and an ItemListData and hit create.
