Hey all, as most forums have, I'd like to start an introduction thread so if you aren't terribly shy. stop in and make yourself known (not too much just in case )
What I do: I work as a I.T media/A/V Engineer for a trifecta of Hospitals in my region. Basically I push the button on the projectors and do Video work for educational videos.
background: I dabbled with PC's since the commodore 64c, been hacking games since Baldurs Gate (PC circa 1998), and always loved modeling and animating/texture work for 3Ds Max and Adobe.
found Unity on a game IP I was hired to do some modeling and world building for and they said download Unity. I did and the rest is history.
What I'd like to do with Unity: Release some of my own games, see them through from start to finish. nowadays and with the awesome work of peoples like Invector Team, its made it that much more possible to see this become a possibility. I also love to assist people and give out code and systems many say I should package and sell. But honestly I do love my job, so Unity is just my passion...my Mistress if you will.
Thanks for reading!!

What I do: Non IT industry work!
background: Grew up with video games and absorbed so much about their development and design, some of the great triumphs and pitfalls. Had a go of unity and was able to quickly adapt to some of the coding language and development process. Hobby coding when I get time between work and family.
What I'd like to do with unity: Produce a couple of casual mobile platform games, as well as some mmo titles for cheap, mostly to flesh out cool new ideas in game design.

What I do: Odd tech jobs, Web advertising, websites, building custom rigs, lots of consulting with lawyers for websites / productivity / etc. I defy categorization!
background: Been playing games since the Atari / Nintendo. Played a mud called Arctic, which led me to getting hired to work on youtube, and later one of the first game currency selling sites, in which i did advertising SEO for a bit. Ended up doing a lot of consulting or overseeing projects, however my dream has always been to make a game. Worked with the Unreal Engine, worked with Ogre, and eventually came to Unity.
What I'd like to do with Unity:
You know when you play a game, and are like "Why did they do this?" or "if they would of done this, the game would of been so much better?". Well it may be presumptuous, but i really believe in my idea's, and think i could do better. So i would like to make a game that uses all the system's and idea's i have written down for years. Also to actually learn coding, as that part of my education was left incomplete.

My actual title is Electronics Technician. I help oversee an Urban Ops Training center for the armed forces. We handle widespread AV monitoring of the site and special effects. (Asplosions, Smells, sounds, Wartime ambiance training, and everything in-between). I've got a background in Networking. I have no idea how I ended up here, but I wouldn't trade it for any other job.
My goal with Unity is to create a Zelda-Like adventure game. I've always enjoyed how anyone can pick up those games and have fun with them. Fluid combat, tons of puzzles and brain teasers with a little bit of RPG and exploration elements thrown in for good measure. I absolutely love the playstyle of the older games (OoT, MM, and WW) but I'm not satisfied with having them locked down to one console.
