AI is not attacking the player

I have two issues with the AI:

1. My AI won’t attack the player. He approaches the player, follows her and strafes around, but that’s all. The player is applying damage to him, and the AI recoils when hit and plays the defence animation, but it will never attack.

2. Also, if I set the Obstacle Layer to Default, the AI still follows the player and takes damage, but it stops strafing. If I set it to anything else, he strafes. Why?

I’m sure it’s a silly mistake on my side, but any ideas what I’m doing wrong?

The AI needs to have a weapon in order to attack, if you want to use hand to hand combat, you just need to enable the bool "Use Default Hitbox" and apply the animations just like we show in the tutorial, also make sure that you're tags & layers are correct.

Doh! As suspected, the error was on my side.

I'm using the provided animation controller "AI_CombatController", and I'd assumed it was loaded with default animations. I added some animations to Default Attack, and it's working now. Thanks for your help!
