And here is a quick video (NOT POLISHED yet) still adding AI, Colliders, merging meshes(optimizing), fixing z-fighting etc...

fantastic, lots of stuff in there, i spend a night working on getting some basic terrain done and i'm too flustered to go on to placing buildings, so that's a lot of effort to create a whole city!

Really nice. I love the architecture of the level. A couple of simple things to fix i think would make a great improvement is as invector said, fix the camera in fights, either increase the min distance to attack, change the clipping, etc.... Another thing is some of your textures are not aligned properly, like when your decending in to the dungeon, the bricks look a little wonky. I would also mess around with just a tiny tiny bit of bloom and change the camera to HDR mode, i think you could get ALOT more mileage out of the beautiful scenery you created. I think your team has a real knack for level design and layout. I loved the voices, but i had to turn up my headphones to hear them. Love the opening scene with the giant in the background. It really gave me an idea of what was to come.

Yeah I need to get some new vids up this weekend, we have fixed a lot of those issues for sure already and I just changed the project to use linear lighting and HDR today as well a s some starting post process effects, thank you very much for the compliments and we are glad that you like it. My girlfriend has been building the city for a little over a week non-stop, she said she was tired of seeing the same thing over and over so she started building out the awesome swamp level(vid this weekend or tomorrow night hopefully).

Thank you! Yeah it is a ton of work for sure. My girlfriend has been working all day every day for the past week building the city(still quite a bit to go), but it is looking awesome, I am getting ready to implement more AI and Chronicman's RPG pack into the scene as well. Needless to say, there has been a few sleepless nights in my household, lol!

Hopefully she doesn't have to create the buildings from scratch.

Every building in the scene is custom made from scratch. You are right though it takes a lot of effort but that is what makes things awesome. I feel for you guys building scenes, because I can not design anything to save my life!, LOL But I do need to do a lot of optimizing, mesh merging and what not so that will be a ton of boredom, lol!

haha I have spent 8 hours over night several times just trying to get the right terrain done. Finally got one I was happy with, haven't put in any trees or grass though! now I need to find the right set of stylised int/ext pieces to match the rest of my game before I can even think about putting pieces together. And I hope you had progrids or something, putting both sides of a wall on piece by piece is a nightmare without it!

I think we spent like a solid month making terrains deleting them and then making new ones! We also bought every terrain generator in the store, lol! (MapMagic, Terrain Composer2, Gaia, World Creator Pro, Voxeland) we have them all and still had a hard time. In the end we chose to use Map Magic to create a basic heightmap and then edit it by hand sculpting and painting details to fit our needs. Honestly I never did get progrids, but am going to look at it right now(maybe save her some headache). Keep plucking away at the terrain, cause it is amazing how even a simple terrain can turn into something awesome once details are added!

Yeah i find the problem with building assets piece by piece is they have to be aligned each panel! The progrids tool does the snap to position thing so you just need to know the dimensions of the objects, helps with it. And yeah i have gaia and tc2, have ended up making a good one in gaia and i think i will do one terrain per scene as baking my 5 by 5 grid with tc2 takes a long time

Progrids is a must man,! it saves you 1000s of hours placing stuff around. I wouldn't even make a scene with out it.

I bought the entire protools bundle when it was on sale like 2 years ago. I have assets like Arctic Castle which i use and retexture a ton, but Protools is like TPC, its hard to imagine making a game without it. Progrids is really easy to use but it sometimes doesn't save the snap positions on an import. However ProBuilder is a simplified 3d studio's / Maya / blender in Unity. For sculpting things and texturing things It's amazing. You should really buy it for your girlfriend as a christmas present :p But seriously, It's super fast, You can build a house from scratch in an hour or two, and its a god send when your using mismatching assets, as you can quickly make a simple piece that ties them together. It's cut art creation time in about 1/10 of the time, if not more.

So Greg(who does our character voices), and Val(girlfriend/level designer) decided to put together a funny video to show some of the swamp level. Still a work in progress like everything else at the moment but looks pretty cool(even better when usky sun shafts are not messed up and keep disappearing for no reason at all)? We may or may not make it a little brighter in the scene what do you guys think?
-----WARNING (some swearing in the video (no F-words though))-----
