I trying to change the sound of my player's footsteps using a custom surface. I have followed the video tutorial on how to create a custom surface but it only plays the default sounds. I have checked the name of the material used to trigger the new sounds and the layer of the surface that is being walked on is set to default.

Try enabling the option Debug in the Footstep to see exactly what texture name the sphere is colliding

I'm not getting any useful information with debug checked. This is all I'm getting from each step:
UnityEngine.Debug:Log(Object) Invector.vFootStep:StepOnMesh(FootStepObject) (at Assets/Invector-3rdPersonController/Basic Locomotion/Scripts/FootStep/Scripts/vFootStep.cs:169) Invector.vFootStepTrigger:OnTriggerEnter(Collider) (at Assets/Invector-3rdPersonController/Basic Locomotion/Scripts/FootStep/Scripts/vFootStepTrigger.cs:60)
I see nothing about texture in this.

Hmm looks like the Footstep can't identify your custom surface, are you using a custom shader or something in your surface?

Try the diffuse texture name instead of the material

The diffuse texture and material share the same name. I've also tried the names of the three other textures of the same name. I am using 3D forge's sewer kit. There must be something unique to the kit/textures because I just tried another texture not part of the kit and it works. Could this be a UV issue?

Hmm interesting, we never had any issues with custom texture before... can you email me one of these textures so I can test?
