[DEPRECATED] Cinemachine Integration

Hi.
to tharindu : I am a beginner and I cannot follow very well your steps becasue I miss grasping some notions.
I have on top of those 2 assets, Invector and Cinemachine, the Adventure Creator.
And I am failing miserably on having correct hierarchy.
Can you please share some print screens with the hierarchy of the cameras plus the settings you did for that project ?

Sorry man these were in my old pc and mind you the cinemachine tech is miles ahead of what I had to deal with so it shouldn't be that difficult anymore.

You should be looking at more timeline stuff on the 2017 and 2017+ unity.

I have a problem of understanding the hierararchy I have to use for Invector and Cinemachine camera(s).
Timeline from what I read is to use on interactions and cuts but Cinemachine camera shoudl track my 3rd person player as far as I understand. So I am back again of the problem to make only Cinemachine camera work and skip the Invector's camera.

Hi, new here; Hope all is good.

I have some issues with creating a dolly path camera and blending to the inVector camera.

I basically followed the OP's tutorial for the fly in camera. With that difference that I use a dolly track, while I made sure to create a blend between the two virtual cameras. Things just don't work.

My hierarchy structure:
— Main camera (third person + have cinemachine brain)
 - child: final_virtual_camera (cinemachine virtual camera)

— dolly track with waypoints
— Camera To follow the dolly track (has script to move the dolly waypoint postition).

The moment the camera finishes the path there is no blend to the camera linked to the third person controller camera.


In regards to the written tutorial: 3. Go to the Cinemachine_Autogen*** object in the project hierarchy and set the Camera object as the default camera.

I am totally unsure what you mean with> Cinemachine_Autogen***. I don't see this options. A clean new download from the asset store.

Any help or points are welcome.

Hey Lara,

The topic is actually quite old and was written for Cinemachine 1 or 1.5 

I am not very much aware of the newer changes to cinemachine and haven't used the latest version. I will try and see if I can find sometime to figure this one out, and will post something here if successful. Cheers.

Hey, Thanks for your answer.

I am currently testing it. But I also am making better progress so far by using a custom-made path and using DOTween to move the camera to the final position. It's still a bit rough on the edge when landing on the last waypoint and then when the third person camera takes over. But getting there. 

That's why I rather love to use the cinemachine approach as it has that blend option.
Yet it's a bit more complicated to set up correctly so it seems

I can always later decide what works best.

I'll post the code once I feel comfortable with it as at the moment it's pretty drafty (the DOTween approach) ;)

Hi Lara. Hopefully not too late on this one I managed to successfully keep Unity 2018 Cinemachine Timeline side by side with the invector 3rd person camera. Videos in the thread below.
