I've debated posting here because of how wild the variations are between "things that are done" and "things that need a lot of work," but at this point I just figured why not.
The first video is recent, the second video is a collection of various tests from 2020.
The third video is a "Cabin in the Woods"-style test of some but not all of the enemies and NPCs.
But anyways- Planet M is an Open World, Witcher 3-style game mixed with some Death Stranding-type exploration, and a Devil May Cry-style melee combat style.
There's a lot of things that have influenced this game, but in terms of "What do I do in this game," I've tried to make that endless. You can interact with pretty much everything, and the Quests are pretty diverse. Theres HOURS of Motion Capture, with Full Face and Body animation. Still processing endless Fiverr VO audio files, and matching it to the NPC face data.
This is actually my first game. I know that seems crazy, but I'm actually quite proud. I spent all of 2020 learning to code, and It's paid off. Well, technically my first game was a VR Death Stranding "remake" I made for the Oculus Quest, but I had ZERO optimization and I don't consider it worthy of "my first game" lol.
I have a background in Motion Capture and 3D Modeling, Animation, VFX etc, so the asset creation part is all taken care of, but I needed to learn how to program. I would say the assets in the game are about 80% Made from scratch by me, and 20% Free Assets from the Asset Store.
But even the free assets have been put in Blender, modified, re-textured, etc
Here's some of the "Taunts" you can use to force enemies to attack you.
There's also lots of Player customization options, from Hair to Tattoos to clothes.
There is a linear story, the first 3 "chapters" don't have have access to the open world, but it unlocks after that. You can play however you like for the next 5 chapters, before being locked into the linear story again for the final 2 chapters.
But yeah, I'm hoping to have this finished before Summer 2021, with a demo released in a few months.
Hoping to raise some capital maybe, but I'll work that out once I have a playable demo to release.
I post mainly on my Instagram @ King_Ceryn, you can follow me HERE if you like.
