I have yet to find a way to get the AI to detect the steamvr player

Here is what I am seeing: If a vThirdPersonController script is added to the VR player, they disappear visually, and I am assuming to some other elements as well (possibly RayCast which is what the AI looks to), however; a vThirdPersonController is required for the AI and other Melee elements (like damage etc.) to register in the system, controlling health etc. (it's what they all look for to register something as a player).
I have yet to be able to find everything that looks to the vThirdPersonController to figure out what is causing this. Maybe someone from Invector could answer this? Possibly give a list of scripts that look for the vThirdPersonController so I can figure out what might be causing this?
Edit: I should also add, I am using two characters in this game, one using the third person controller, and another using the VR. This is how I have seen that the VR player is visually invisible with the controller scripts turned on.
