Hey,
I have a strange problem with the prefabed ladder in my game. Since I changed my character model (+ Avatar and humanoid rig obviously) I can climb on to the ladder but the player only moves very very slowly upwards (The animation plays at regular speed). As slowly, that at first I didnt even realized the movement at all. The strange thing is, that I didnt change anything else and checked it multiple times. Collider, Invector settings, Animator settings (Update mode etc.) - everything is identical. I even duplicated the working player and only changed the model (+Avatar and humanoid rig) to be completely sure it isnt something else: same result.
ANY idea whats going on? It must be something with the rig I suppose? I am on the latest version.

No idea? Any hint where I should investigate? This is driving me crazy since it is so strange... Everything else works perfectly, for example ziplines or climbing.

Delete your ladder prefab, then reimport the Invector asset, but ONLY reimport the ladder prefab. Nothing else. Make sure the ladder prefab is the only thing checked in the import settings.

Thanks for your answer. Since the ladder works perfectly with every other character, I doubt that this solves the problem, but I will try it anyway!

Didnt change anything... It must be something with the model or the rig. You could try taking the model into Mixamo and re-rigging it. It's free.

Thanks for the tipp. I actually used Mixamos service for the other characters. Unfortunately you seemingly arent able to auto rig a model, that already has an armature. So I used Blender to remove the (perfectly working) armature the character came with, rigged it via Mixamo and reimported the model into Unity.
I swapped the new model into the TopDownController and now the rig (and therefore the model) are permanently 2.1 y-units above the world position of the pivot of the controller, as if the player was standing midair. The movement, jumping and all works, its just that the model itself is placed to high (by invector?). The pivot points of the rig and the model itself are the same as the working one, if I just place the model in the world and assign an animator controller, everything works fine.
The ladder actually works now as intended...
I already testet disabling the capsule collider of the controller and it is not related to the sphere colliders at the feet of the rig.

By the way, slightly off topic, but if anyone is interested, you can buy Rust here
