Same issue with your demo scene on my Pc, I never had problems with your old versions or Invector so I assume the issue is on my end since I am the only one whining I wish others would confirm they are not having an issue so I can stop banging my head. I have an old slow laptop and I am starting with nothing and downloading everything new "Unity Invector character and your add-on just in case a cached file is causing an issue. It's taking a long time with this junker laptop.
Edit: Same problem on my laptop with a clean install of everything. Demo scene FPC_ShooterSet has the same issue. I can only shoot in the direction I spawn or take my first shot give or take a few degrees left or right. Tried Hipfire, always aiming but making any turns while trying to fire or even simple walking has weird results. Only by facing the spawned direction is when everything works.

Try disabling "Using Melee" in the first person camera inspector ... it's the latest change ... maybe I need to find a better way.

Sorry, my problem remains. Using Shooter checked with sway recoil 1 in Inspector, unchecked Mellee. Unity 2019.2.16f1 (tried 10 different versions of Unity 2018 to 2020) Best way to explain the issue is that the crosshair does not follow the player, when I press right mouse button to zoom/aim I can Spin around and see my full character which is not normal.
I can make my crosshair aim beside my head, body, feet, ground when I turn around when I zoom to aim. Crosshair is not snapping into place like it should be when I press Right mouse button to Aim (Left mouse button to shoot).
****Best to wait to see if others have a similar problem. Wish they would speak up.
Thanks for all your trouble and adding camera sway and recoil. Really appreciate it

To be honest , I don't understand the problem correctly. Try to record a small video of the issue.
