I know that using Generic AI, you can create melee creatures/monsters, but can I also make a ranged monster using the default Generic AI scripts and FSM behaviors?
Or would I need to create an variation of Generic AI to have that kind of behaviour.

You can't use the ShooterManager or ShooterController on a Generic AI, but you can use components such as vAutoShotWeapon and manually call the method to trigger the shot on your custom FSM behavior
