I also use FSM AI. I looked at the sample, but I was unable to increase the reaction speed of the AI (Photo A).
I noticed that vSimpleMeleeAI_Controller has some great features.
1.Reaction rate
In vSimpleMeleeAI, even if the protagonist runs away, the enemy will immediately chase after him. It's a quick response.
FSM AI freezes enemies for a second or two when the protagonist runs away.
This is a big challenge for FSM AI.
2. Rigidbody
vSimpleMeleeAI fixes the positions X and Z of RigidbodyConstraints.
Of course, in FSM AI, if you increase the value of Mass, it will behave similarly.
However, when there are many enemies, I feel that vSimpleMeleeAI works beautifully.
3. vSimpleMeleeAI can easily turn off Strade Sideways and Strade Backward.
(Of course, similar things can be done with FSM AI)
Among the above, 1 is a major issue.
I want FSM AI to have the same reaction speed as vSimpleMeleeAI_Controller.
