Hate to be a complete noob here, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to keep the custom menu options (invector and mobile) from disappearing in my unity project.
I installed invector in a clean unity project, no problems so far. I imported about 17 gigs of environment files I want to use with my project...again the menu options are in Unity, no problem.
I go to import a character asset off the unity store and afterwards the Invector menus disappear. I have to delete the character and revert my files via an svn server to get Invector working again, reimporting or copy pasting a clean install of the invector files does not fix my problem.
I have checked the import of the character - there are no editor/script overwrites that I can find that would interfere with invector itself. Can someone please point me at some method of importing characters or other assets that wont break the invector custom menus?
Very frustrating that its so easy to break, I have worked with Unity assets for 3 years and have never had this type of issue getting something working.
Mind you, when I import these I even make certain not to copy any folders that include character controllers and so on.
The really odd thing is the menu options are there, when I close the editor and reopen it, they disappear, then I have to back track to what files changed from the last time I opened unity to fix the problem.
Chronicman - I may have spoken too soon - I reloaded Unity and it did have an error on a shader, I deleted the shader and the menu items came back up. I hope this is all there is to keeping it fixed, still odd to me that the entire menu system disappears when there is a script error? I have lots of addons and have never seen anything do that before.
