As title says. After i added some fine "Rugged" detail to the before flat terrain, the character began to sink to it. The character wont fall trough it though, it sinks for a moment and then starts popping up and down.

That moment your character is too tired it sinks through the floor and then realizes it's sinking, panics and gets back up again xD

Jokes apart, got a video ? I am a bit confused what you mean by "rugged" terrain Rugged, as in its not perfect flat surface but has some bumps and stuff. Video below, this thing started to happen the moment i added the detail to the terrain. *The game in question is random attempt to create some sort of survival game.. lol.

I actually did experience something like that when I created a small terrain, but this also happens just a capsule collider and rigidbody so the solution was to actually increase the terrain size

Its that small for a reason though, im using different cameras etc to change places (to save fps) . I think this is problem in Unitys end and cant be fixed other than having complete flat terrain :/

If you really want to save performance then stay away from Unity Terrain lol You could use Probuilder to create a plane and paint with a triplanar tool.... or remove the Terrain Collider and create one manually with Probuilder mapping your terrain height

This is why Terrafirma is on my most wanted assets list once released.

So if you got extra small terrain, the character should be roughly size of an toy if i got it right from reading random internet articles.
Just checked this out, the comparison on Unity Terrain VS Terrafirma is insane in terms of FPS. Thanks, now im waiting for this too
