Now that the ai template has been released, is it possible to get NPCs to use climbing on ladders and maybe even alternate climbs, like (Jumpover, Climb up, Step up) like the player? and if so, are you able to do a tutorial video on such?.

Must I shoot at him? or can I do a push E button and hi will go open? just re-purposed the demo scene from AI where the guy goes to pick up a weapon when shot at, to just go execute a generic action to show that it can be done. You need to modify some scripts related to generic actions to make it work. It's tedious to do a tutorial and I don't want to share the scripts either because sharing it online, means sharing some core invector code too.

Are you able to give a hint as to what to change in those scripts? i think i have a rough idea,
is it a matter of switching the tags? and what ever else?

Ive Tried and Failed many times in a whole lotta ways!, as i'm sure most others would like to have climbing also...
Is there any chance im heading in the right direction if i were to use a combination of off-mesh link on to a ladder prefab for example, and triggering an animation of climbing when they hit the destination.
if that sounds like its possible. how exactly might i go about making the AI move upwards within that? kinda like how how in the one of the example scenes the sniper will grab the sniper and go to position, only the position is directly above. i take it i have to disable a few things but what might they be?
honestly im happy with them popping in and out of the ladder animation..
that said everything else is A-Okay..

Did anyone find out how to make the AI climb? It would be awesome to have a companionAI be able to follow the player when they're climbing up walls and such.

Yes you can, I never break down invector climb or AI script before but if you want to edit event trigger to affect Enemies or Companion just makes something like this on event trigger script :
New public string _tagName with default value "Player".
Change OnTrigger "other.tag (_tag Name)"
At least you can inspect enemies tag later..

BTW You can cheat it right?
You can makes the correct scale, distance of your level with distance tool and replicate the climbing animation in 3rd party software or You can just export the mesh as obj with probuilder then animates. At the end of the animation you can creates a script and call it from unity animation event to enable the controller, etc.
And don't forget change the animator at runtime to avoid any unwanted problems with existing animator.

Did anyone figure out how to solve the root motion for evaluate position for generic actions. I could never get the character to move into position properly.
