Hi guys, so I'm working on a project that uses vegetation studio pro (beta) which requires 2018.2 onwards. I noticed everytime I imported the invector asset it would breaaaak everything majorly, giving me over 999 errors (but a quick fix ain't one) all to do with my cache folder and unity core scripts. At first I thought it was an incompatibility with the pro beta for vege studio needing a few packages etc, but with some hefty googles and a bit of problem solving I realised that it's because Invector's template project settings adjust the player back to .net version 3.5, which of course breaks my system because I was set to 4.x. I'm about to do it all over again and see if I can get it on 4.x without issues (might just be setting it and restarting).
But it might affect compatibility with a few other new release assets moving forward into the future, so I thought I'd raise the issue for thought in case you desperately need net 3.5, or if there is scope to release an auto fix.
edit: oh also, camera editor scripts in the basic controller folders have EventType.ignore errors, it has to be EventType.Ignore, apparently it's changed to capital I.

There shouldn't be any reason you can't change it to 4.x after import, and just recompile, as well as fix any other issues such as you found. It will run in 2018, I've done it. However.... 2018 is broken, see this thread: invector.proboards.com/thread/1822/lose-weapon-handSo it's best to stay on 2017 for any serious game development, until Unity fixes all their bugs.

yeah I've changed it to 4 and seems to fix it. But unfortunately a lot of other assets I've been using alongside invector have all been updating to 2018 onwards for some of the pipeline changes, eventually you will have users buying in expecting it to work. My bad if i've missed a bug report thread though.

Create your 2018.2 project and when importing the template, UNCHECK the Project Settings and hit import.
After Imported, go to Invector > Import ProjectSettings. It will import only the necessary (input, layers & tags and layer matrix).
If you created a High Definition Project, you will need to update the materials. Go to Edit > Render Pipeline > Upgrade Project Materials to High Definition Materials
I just tested on 2018.2.5f1 and works great with 0 errors even with .NET 4.x

Oh wow i didn't know that was an ability, I will do that from now on and i might include it in a tutorial video. It's interesting that it does that alternate project setting install. And tempting to see what the hidef graphics does.
