Just wandering if we could get a eta on the shooter template?..
I implemented my own code to include weapons, but after the melee template was introduced I cancelled it out, cause it made things over complicated with my custom code. So I'm keen to see the new shooter template...
I rate your TP template as number one on the asset store above Opsive's... I believe what keeps them in front is the weapon system they have so no presure... lol...

Hey rob, welcome to the vforum We still don't have an ETA on the Shooter, because during the development we hit a stage that we need to go back to the Basic Locomotion to improve some methods and remake others. This will impact all the 3 versions of the templates, and will bring a system much faster, stable and easier to customize. We're almost finishing v1.3 of the Basic Locomotion and it will be available next week including: - V-bot 2.0 with custom skins - New demo scene - Moving platform example - Area damage example (damage by frequency when staying inside the area) - New Animator Controller with less transitions, layers & parameters (easier to customize & add new animations) - Improved Jump Physics - Improved Ragdoll Transitions - New method to detect Actions (without raycast, improving the performance) - New Headtrack system with LookAt to objects - New Input script that handle all the input separated from the controller (easy to integrate with input assets) - New Speed by MoveSet script that allow adding different speed values to the locomotion for each moveset All of this will of course be included on the Melee & Shooter because now when you import any template, you will have the exactly same version of the Basic package, every template and the features included will be on a separated folder. For example, before we had every reference of the melee calling inside the Controller, Animator & Motor, and now the Melee will have separated classes controlling this features, leaving the original controller handle only the basic stuff (moving, jumping, etc) The Melee Combat will be next with version 1.4, bringing an Inventory Example that shows how you can pick up, equip, drop itens. Then we got back to the Shooter with a much more solid system. We already code the core and complex stuff, so now we only need to finish the Aim & Decal system, polish and release v1.0 ( it will include basic 1.3 and melee 1.4) I will create a post with more details soon, but believe awesomeness awaits

Def excited to see this come out! Love that you are breaking all of the non-movement stuff out into their own classes! That goes a long ways towards the ability for various devs to pick this package up and implement it to their current projects regardless of their respective custom needs!

Mele Combat v 1.4 Inventory example Will this only include hand held items ? could it be used for armor as well ?.

Any Plans for some kind of "pick up and throwing" ? Like pick up a crate and throw it at your enemys? Yep we even have a prototype with throwing trajectory that draws a line and landing point
