Hello, new to the forum. ive seen the video on replacing the character model with a finished rigged model but what about something custom that isnt fully rigged? mainly no hands and just nubs. Is it possible to attach a different character model that is rigged differently with less bones? These are the models i made wondering if this would work. imgur.com/a/Uk28SwkAnd sorry if this is answered somewhere. thanks for the help!

Yea it's possible but if the bone structure isnt humanoid, you can't retarget humanoid animations. One thing to note, is even if the shape is differn't (no hands) doesn't mean it's not humanoid or can't be rigged to be a humanoid. For instance you can turn off the hands in a humanoid skeleton or you can add a cape.
Even if your using a non humanoid rig, you can still use it on the controller provided you know how to work the unity animator and have movement and attack animations.
