You can't use any AnimatorController to create a new AI since the system itself needs specific variables, layer and animator states in order to work.
Simple duplicate our original animator controller and replace/add the animations you desire just like we do in the video tutorials

Btw the error in the Character Creator Window is not about the animations, but your character fbx
