So for some reason my companions walk after me, at a SUPER slow pace. Is there a way to make them walk when they're near, and sprint to me if they're far away? Otherwise they lag behind and walk SOOO slow.

Did you adjust Follow speed and Move To speed on the Companion controller?

NPC's use only root motion of the animation to move, so if your animations doens't have, he will walk 'in place'. We will update the AI to use the agentSpeed in the future, but for now you still need root motion animations
