First of all, I think the Melee Controller tool is phenomenal and I very much appreciate the dev support it has. Thanks for creating these assets, they're exactly what I need for my game!
I'm working on creating an action rpg with combat similar to Dynasty Warriors -- light attack combos with heavy attack combo closing attacks. Light attacks have a simple random damage value range without any status effects but the heavy attacks have both different value ranges and status effects depending on at which point the combo is completed with a heavy attack.
Example: LA = Light Attack, HA = Heavy Attack
Combo one -- LA (5-15 dmg), LA (5-15 dmg), HA (20-35 dmg + area stun .75 secs). Combo two -- LA (5-15 dmg), HA (15-25 dmg + single target knock back 2 units). Combo three -- LA (5-15 dmg) x 6, HA (40-60 dmg + area bleed (DoT) 6 seconds.
*edited to add this question* I also want 2 actions to happen upon contact with a melee attack; 1) spawn a vfx at the point of contact on the recipients body and, 2) slow the attack animation speed down a fraction of a second. These actions are meant for player feedback on the success of their hit. Do I need to write a custom script and attach it to the events for these to happen or is that functionality already built into this system?
I'm hoping I can get some advice on what the best way to template this system would be so that I can weave LA/HA animations with damage range variations and status effects across multiple weapon types. Any help is appreciated and thanks for your time! Best of luck with your projects!
