I watched:
I am trying to open one of the basic scenes such as Invector_MeleeCombat_NoInventory and move the SwordV_long_Collectable into the VBOT_:RightHand so that it defaults to be equipped when the game starts.
When I enter play mode, the Melee Manager detects the SwordV_long_Collectable as the Right Weapon and it shows up in the inspector.
However, it just flopped around on the ground. I set kinematic to true, and set freeze position and rotation on the weapon, and now a few things 1) Good, it moves around with the hand. 2) Good, clicking left mouse button creates an attack animation with the sword. 3) Good, when attacking, the hitbox for the sword becomes visible in scene view while the sword is swinging. 4) Bad, in the lower left of the GUI it shows a hand as the current weapon. 5) Bad, when I walk on another weapon, and press "e" to pick and equip it, both weapons are equipped in the hand.
The video said I only needed to put it in the hand game object, but it seems like I'm missing something for starting the game with the weapon equipped. Help?
