I have an humanoid creature IA that walk properly when using the Invector Walk animation, but walk in place when using the walk animation provided with the model.
Any idea how I can make the custom walk animation work properly and have the IA move forward ?

Does your animation have root motion? (simple melee ai requires animation with root motion) - also make sure to bake the navmesh in your scene.

Those animations do not have root motion. Does the advanced IA package solve that issue and allow animation w/o root motion ?

Yep! in the FSM AI it works pretty much the same as the CharacterController, it's driven by root motion, rigidbody or both
