Using latest versions of invector TPS, unity v2019.3
Create basic flat terrain, create navmesh with all defaults.
Create player TPS works fine. Create melee (or any type of) simple AI (not FSM). The companion will try move towards the player at the start, but they are walking at half speed it looks like. Once they intersect their orange gizmo circle (not even sure what that is for) they now follow the playeras as expected anywhere according to their proper locomotion speeds, running etc.
I can't see what changes after that first connection but it does not work correctly from the start.
Simple enemyAI does move correctly at the start so this is only a problem with companions.
Note the FSM Ai Companion works as expected and moves towards the same player correctly, while the simple AI companion still has the problem of walking slow at the start until first contact.
