Particle Effects in the Inventory

Is there a reason why particle effects stop when they are in the inventory screen.  I have a torch with a flame particle effect attached to it.  The particles work fine when in the inventory window is closed.  When the inventory window is open the torch is attached to my character but the effects are not playing.

Theres a setting somewhere for setting the time scale of the scene in the inventory. You can turn it off
