Having two AI's meet and perform an animation together

Hello Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone here has dealt with the following;

I'd like to have two AI's patrol and after a certain amount of time, meet at a meeting point, perform a synced animation and then continue patrolling.

I've been thinking about this for some time and have thought of the following challenges
* each controller would likely need to wait at the meeting point before performing the animation
*the two animations would need to be timed perfectly

also, is performing a synced 2 person animation something super complicated to do with the Invector controllers? I have the stealth kill addon, 
so I imagine its for sure possible, however, what if the synced animation involved moving around? for example lets say the two AI's were dancing together? I imagine you would need to use root motion
