well, i updated the 3rd person controller and it's not going so well.
i erased the 3rd person folder and imported the updated version, so far, i have a strange echo in my game, had to recreate all the animation controller, it took a while, and now my character can't pickup items, or if she does, they don't appear in the item manager, also, all my camera settings are going wild, and when i lock on a target the image goes crazy!

The items doesn't even recover health anymore.

Quick check, did you back up your game first?
Also, when you deleted the files you deleted the scripts that were connected to your player model including the item manager. In the item manager is the section where you need to add the health potion's affect. When you loaded the new update it would have blanked out the item manager script and thus cleared whatever settings you would have had for potion effect.

When you do stuff like create new animstion controller additions it is best that you save that animator controller into a different folder with a new name that suits your character. This is why in the other thread invector said to do it this way because otherwise the update will see it is different to the new updated one and overwrite it.

I have all my changes in my own folders, but i had to remake my animation controller as the new melee combatv2 has some differences with the last one. Thanks for the item manager, i forgot about that, and to pick up items and so on, i added the generic action script and now my character can interact with other objects. The only thing now is that Strange echo...

The only thing now is that Strange echo... Thanks! BTW, when you finish getting the animation controller back to the way you want it, save the animation controller file in a seperate folder. You can and should do this if you make any changes to the UI, and your inventory. I have a folder called Charactor that holds the model, the camera, the animator controller, inventory, ui's, enemy health ui's, and anything i changed. I just zip that up every night and it's kinda a cheap instant backup if you don't want to use a repository.

can I ask what you mean by echo? are you saying the sound effects are echoing? Double check if you have a second listener in your scene, pretty sure there should only ever be one, lest unity gives you a compile error. But yeah it could be that you have a duplicated listener or a secondary one, or maybe there is something in the settings causing the 3d audio to play up. Record a video of it maybe to help identify it?

i've checked and i only have one audio listener wich is in the Camera, but still, there's this strange echo, but i think it's only in my character voices. She has Trigger sound by states in her animator controller...

There was no reason to create another thread, but anyways... looks like your state are calling more then one voice... perhaps the clips are too long and the animations too short and they are overcliping

You most likely made or adjusted the default audiosource. I had the same problem with custom audio, so i made a separate audiosource and adjust the zone mix for reverb.

The v Generic action is a script that comes with the latest update, Melee Action 2.2, it should be there if you updated, and in my case i only added it to my character so she can píck up items with the update. For the potion, as said before, you need to open the attribute Events tab in the item manager, then in the attribute that says Health, drag you character to the space below "runtime only": and then where it says no function select "V third person controller" and inside it select "change Health: Hope it helps!
