Official Add-on Swimming by Invector (sellfy.com/p/mjTi/)
* THIS ADD-ON REQUIRED THE BASIC LOCOMOTION TEMPLATE *
Swimming Official Add-on Plug & Play
This swimming system allows you to swim above or under water, you can trigger particles effects using Events that knows when you're on water.
With this add-on you not only get the swimming but also the knowledge to create custom modular add-ons without changing the core of the controller.
* Required Basic Locomotion 2.3.0 or higher ** MeleeCombat & Shooter already contain the Basic Locomotion

Curious as to what Water assets this has been used successfully with. Any of you guys have any feedback on what waters you're using with this add-on and how well it is working for you? I'm currently back in design phase, so I'll pick this up and deal with it later, but I've switched my project over to Playway's water system instead of Aquas. It functions a good bit differently than the other assets (but looks 10 times better), so curious how this add-on will function with it, and what it will entail to get it hooked in.

does this mean all official addons will cost or will they be incorporated into future releases and at what price would an upgrade cost because $15 here and $10 there after purchasing the base really isn't fair

So you are saying that Invectors time isn't worth anything, I am so tired of hearing people say that it isn't fair when someone charges a little bit for "extras", these addons are because Invector and other devs on here go above and beyond to spend their time to build cool things that are not a part of the actual Controller that you bought. This is the exact reason that Unity gets such a bad reputation, people always want things for free. Guess what though...making a game isn't free or anywhere close to it, and people shouldn't expect that you will get extra features for free either, they are not an update to fix any bug issues, they are extras on top of what you bought to begin with. I apologize if I come across as an asshole, that is not my intention, but to want things for free in life is just not reality and shows that you are not serious about making anything. I mean lets face it... if you make a game and release it, will it be free? Because isn't it unfair to charge people? If you do not want to pay a developer to make badass things for you, then you need to go and learn how to code it yourself, it takes 100's of hours to code awesomeness like Invectors template. And to finish let me just say that where I live to pay a Developer to build you something freelance would be in the ballpark of $100-$150 an hour, so $15 is more than fair. Okay I am done ranting, but come on people it is comments like this that piss devs off and then they stop helping, because why waste their time for ungrateful consumers.

I do not see why it wouldn't work with any water asset, it is based on the water tag and a trigger collider being around the water, so it should be fine with anything. How is Playway if you do not mind me asking? We have been looking at it for some time, I an curios to know how the performance is, if it drops frame rate pretty bad or not, we have a rather large world and Aquas does not drop it too bad but I saw Playway is multithreaded and says "no performance loss" hard to believe with a water asset, we tried Smartwater but it is super buggy. And realistic water is awesome but has not been updated last I checked.

You are correct that the asset store has not updated, but if you e-mail the dev, he will send you a link to the new beta version. The beta version fixed everything and more for me. Includes way more features than the asset store version. He also included a link to a location that will always have his latest beta version.
As for performance, it is performing the same, if not better than aquas. My map is also huge, and I can look in any direction and still have 100-140 FPS at the moment. It's Salty at 100 dollars. I debated for a while before grabbing it. But it's worth every bit of the 100 dollars. It functions perfectly for me, even in Linear/deferred. I actually started looking for solutions again because I started having issues with Aquas once I picked up Enviro. It kept rendering the ocean as invisible if I had fog enabled (if the terrain wasn't below it), and fighting on the z-buffer. (The asset store version of Playway also has this issue, as well as a strange shadow issue on land that renders over the water, but this is resolved in the Beta version.) Playway water is truly AAA quality water once you see it in action in your game.

Also, let me know if you go with Playway. I can help you get everything squared away and onto the Beta. All I had to do was provide my invoice number, and he sent me all the new info. He answered me and had me onto the new version within an hour from when I e-mailed.

Learn to code urself and u dont need to buy anything... I think the point maggotgore was trying to make is that this asset is categorized as a Complete Project, and releasing paid addons to it instead of updating the base asset is a bit misleading. @invector just cleared this up by saying "..the core mechanics of each template will still be released free on main packages as always" However I would have thought Swimming and Ziplines could have been included in a bigger 'Action Pack' add-on which I would have been happier to pay for.

He split it up because 1 it would be prob be around $50.00 for climbing, zipline, and swimming together. Not everyone wants all those features. With the packs separate some people dont have to spend as much and it adds more dynamic when you see each addon individually. Instead of a big expensive pack he split it up in multiple packs that are less expensive.
To be fair Invector did say he would have "packs" and that prices would vary but be affordable. I havent gotten this addon but i can say the zipline one is awesome and a great way to learn how to code your own addon for the controller.

I am seeing a lot of whining on here lately and it is sickening, as yondaime08 stated Invector clearly stated that there would be small affordable fees for the addons. and yondaime08 hit it right on the head with not everyone wants all of the features listed, making it modular and selling the addons as seperate packages is by far the best way to go about it.
What do you people want? Do you think you can make a game for $100.00? Get over it for real, if you are serious about wanting to make a quality game, then quit bitching and understand this.
If you want an "all included" template then try one of the others and you will quickly realize the mistake you made when they don't compare to the quality that Invector gives you.
Nothing is misleading at all, it never mentions anything about swimming, climbing archery or anything else in the package template whether it is melee, shooter or basic.
Take a look at ootii and the way they do it, this is a very similar setup and is a way better option.
Let me stress this again, hopefully for the last time STOP WANTING THINGS FOR FREE or learn to code, and even when you learn to code you will still have to pay for some things because it just makes more sense to buy it than to try and code it yourself sometimes.

Man but ootii is not a great pack though. I think they're over complicating easy things. I personally like Opsive's approach but it's only good for a developer exclusive because even the animator is strictly code based, which I don't mind. BUT Invector by far is the best middle ground controller I landed on . The perfect balance between code based extension and user friendliness and they keep on building things in such a way it actually helps you make something easily. It's fair to ask if a base upgrade would require cash. I don't think Invector is unreasonable. In fact they gave the entire generic action update for free and it's a pretty big step for them. Personally for me , generic actions make the controller valued at least at a 100 bucks easily. But I really hope people are not expecting these addons for free either. I mean the zipline is 5 bucks! I mean seriously!! how can you think of becoming a developer of a good quality game if you can't spend 5 bucks on a good asset pack ? Also for the hours invector may have spent on these addons, if you had done it yourself or got a developer to do it for you , how much do you think that would have cost you ? I understand some of you may be students, in which case guys please, collect some cash and set some goals, find a paid internship, take your time and don't rush things. Don't be upset when an asset you bought doesn't work for you. it's part of the learning process.

completly agree just 15$ to add swimming is perfect, this always comes down to the time vs money calc, it would take more than $15 of my time to code swimming, so this is very cheap, i also like the other feature this adds:
-------------------- This swimming system allow you to swim above or under water, you can trigger particles effects using Events that knows when you're on water.
With this add-on you not only get the swimming but also the knowledge to create custom modular add-ons without changing the core of the controller. --------------------
the modular addon example really interests me, as hacking the core of invector is counter productive.
keep up the good work invector, i will buy this as soon as it shows up on the asset store
