completly agree just 15$ to add swimming is perfect, this always comes down to the time vs money calc, it would take more than $15 of my time to code swimming, so this is very cheap, i also like the other feature this adds: -------------------- This swimming system allow you to swim above or under water, you can trigger particles effects using Events that knows when you're on water. With this add-on you not only get the swimming but also the knowledge to create custom modular add-ons without changing the core of the controller. -------------------- the modular addon example really interests me, as hacking the core of invector is counter productive. keep up the good work invector, i will buy this as soon as it shows up on the asset store This is by far the best swimming pack one could hope to find. seriously.

if u dont want to pay for it ,no one said u had to. Learn to code urself and u dont need to buy anything... I think the point maggotgore was trying to make is that this asset is categorized as a Complete Project, and releasing paid addons to it instead of updating the base asset is a bit misleading. @invector just cleared this up by saying "..the core mechanics of each template will still be released free on main packages as always" However I would have thought Swimming and Ziplines could have been included in a bigger 'Action Pack' add-on which I would have been happier to pay for. Hi Jacob, I see you have only a few posts so I assume you are part of the new batch of users coming in. Welcome to the forums! Hope your project is coming along well, and if you have any troubles let the community know and we'll try and help. I wanted to quote your post as you raise something quite interesting in your first paragraph. This asset is not a "complete project", I can see why you think it is classed as such, because it is listed under the category on the Unity Asset store, under the sub category of "Template". All the advertising from Invector has clearly stated that this is a template (it's even in the name!) and not a complete project solution, and strongly insist on keeping it as feature light and optional so people can use it across a broad range of third person game styles. To address your last paragraph, last week Invector asked the forums if they would prefer one larger action pack containing swimming + ziplines, or if (to keep with their ethos of only use what you need) we wanted to split it up into cheaper add ons. The majority wanted the separation, as like me, I only wanted swimming (zip lines aren't something I would use regularly in my games.) But yes, core game features (like generic actions to open doors/interact with items) have been and will continue to be built into the primary template. Swimming and climbing can actually be achieved by the user, to tailor make their own methods, using the base template, so these are more add ons than core mechanics. I hope that makes it a bit clearer for everyone coming to Invector's TPC.

I didn't expect my post to receive such a response really, I only thought to express an opinion, not to come across as whining or bitching.
Seems like some just get triggered easily..

jacob personally i didn't think you were complaining. However there has been a lot of requests for diff things and not very many people come here with their own code trying to figure things out. That in itself is sometimes why devs leave their asset because the demand and pressure is too much. Assets arent supposed to make the game for you but help provide you with groundwork of some kind you can build upon and learn from. Whether it's models, scripts, particles, sfx. We dont want Invector to be too stretched. They do a wonderful job and quality takes time. Look at Ooti and their asset. The movement is not fluid, and their is sliding with the character on land and even when swimming. Its due to the person not detailing the controller further with physics and rigidbody work like invector did. This really is the best third person controller to use and its because of the attention to quality they put in. They are always being proactive with this system. Even when a "addon" hasnt been released yet, they release an update which adds about 3 or more features to the controller. They communicate with us daily which means support is the best hands down. I say all this because when any of you have a problem with your project remember you have great support here with the Dev and fellow developers. The only thing that can literally stop our projects is us. So whether its a coding, sound, or art problem. Remember you are not alone. Making games isnt easy but we need to enjoy it and have fun!

Yeah the initial idea was to create the Advanced Locomotion Pack with 5 new Actions but we discuss with the community on the Official Roadmap thread and most of the users that posted, wanted the packages separated and we already have 2 ready to ship. It's hard to pleased everyone lol, but I think 10~15 bucks is pretty affordable... And it's totally optional, if you don't want to spend your money you can try creating yourself using the concept of the Generic Action, it's pretty much what we did... use triggers to detect the action, turn off the controller, turn on methods that we need, do action behaviour, exit and reset controller. You can do wonders with this idea

Trust me when I say that my post was not meant to be directed at you, but more as a "general" post. A lot of users have been trying to complain and want everything for free, again (not directed at you). I am not triggered easily and am more than willing to help people out when and where I can, but lately over the past few weeks, there has been more "write a script for me", than people actually trying to figure it out and then asking for help when stuck. As it has been stated many times on these forums, everyone here is willing to help and the community is the best, but at the same time we all have our own projects going on as well. Again I do apologize if you feel this was directed at you, this is not a hostile community and neither am I, but there comes a time when everyone has had enough of listening to complaints that do not make sense.

(Off topic) jrackley, I absolutely agree, I know I have basically asked that for the portal system (now while I didn't intend that way it came out that way for sure), I'm sorry. I was stuck, but that's cause of my lack of programming skills (which is I'm working on ATM). Thank you! :D (On topic) Invector, while I haven't bought it yet, this swimming looks simply amazing!!!!!! I know I've been saying this a lot but keep up the good work!!!! :D Cheers! NuclearRasberry

Possibly an Advanced Locomotion Pack with 5 actions and a slightly reduced package price could still be an option for those of us that would like to get all of them. Cheers for the reply.

Separate add-on packs is definitely the way to go. Very few asset store publishers make enough money from asset development for it to be a sustainable pursuit. Smaller add-on packs help make it worth their while to continue to develop and support their primary assets. While $50-70 may seem expensive to many indie/hobbyist developers (especially those outside North America or Europe), assets like Invector's TPC, Opsive's TPC and Behavior Designer, Motion Controller, ORK Framework, Gaia, Inventory Pro, Dialogue System, etc are all profoundly underpriced considering the hundreds or (more likely) thousands of hours of work that have gone into developing them and providing support.
Too many asset store publishers have already walked away from it all because the return on time invested in supporting and updating an asset simply wasn't worth it. Premium add-ons such as these help keep these top-tier asset developers able to actively provide further development and support.
