Yep, told you all I was getting anxious, so I delved into this project, which I will release *for free* all the code and prefabs and setups.
heres a little video showing what I have done so far (it does use platform manager so you can either keyboard/mobile or joystick)
things still to do/finish/accomplish
1) trigger the car door opening/closing animation (its part of the free asset so lets make it look nice) 2) mess with rotations/positions on enter/exit vehicle (as it is im not doing any calculations just teleporting) which messes with my open/close car door player animation ) 3) create a speedometer/gas meter UI on enter 4) create a *honk* function 5) create a gasoline function (for realism ) optional Boolean. 6) make it so can cause damage on objects/enemies. (triggering ragdoll on enemies should make for some fun)
shouldn't be a long wait as most of that above stuff can be done over a weekend. Hope you guys like it and maybe could find use for it.

This guy is unstoppable - you should put the vObjectDamage and add a condition for the rigidbody.velocity.magnitude > x to activate the ragdoll of the Enemies lol, this should be fun to watch

you were right, I could do this all day.

That is gold! I was wondering how you'd go about adding in the vehicles, like horses and cars and even planes or flying machines, I have a few game designs that span genres that'd use all three. Eagerly awaiting the release Would this be adaptable to the new updates for melee and shooter? or is it too soon to tell...

It should work out of box with it, since all the code is self contained within the vehicle scripts and only uses a enable/disable third person controller on entering/exiting vehicles. as for other vehicles, Im currently working on a variety of cars to go along with the package and am also working in a Helicopter vehicle as well. (video soon to follow showing helicopter and other vehicles) I'd say release date would probably be next weekend. or latest weekend after.

did you just make a shooter template?! kind of, but its only for the vehicles script, its a generic weapon system that lets you shoot a prefab. so I made a simple rocket model and bullet prefab model, but you guys can use any game object as a bullet/rocket and just assign the vDamage script to the bullet/rocket prefab, set up some variables in the weapon manager(like speed of trajectory, does gravity affect it?, muzzle prefab,etc) and you have instant shooting with damage.
Im now implementing the same weapon system for the cars as well ....cause....why not right?

another update/ cars with weapons. using a Boolean switch to use or not use. currently it just uses the *start/enter* button config on joy/keyboard.
