Yes, the asset store is great for parts and pieces for building a world. Our character however, took a lot of customization and work, and he's not from the asset store. Here are a couple of screenshots. He's orange looking in the first one because its a lava/volcanic level (so its a lighting thing). free

hostingWe also have a looooot more characters that I will take some screenshots of as we add them into game play.

i wish there would be a little baked lighting in this scene as well, that would have made it look like a E3 conference upcoming title

Thank you everyone for the compliments, I really appreciate it. Were just a three person group, so any compliment is appreciated. We are not super great at working with lighting at the moment, and unfortunately, the documentation on it is rather scarce (I think the Unity docs are only about a page on lightmapping).
Daz is great, just great. We loved being able to customize our own characters, and the options are endless. We recommend Daz highly. Even for cutsie kids games, they have a never ending supply of customizable models. Just don't forget they have a licensing fee of 1500.00+, and some of the customizations have another fee. And, if you mix it up and use morph characters (which are just optimized daz models) you have to pay another 500.00+ in fees (even if you own that character in Daz format).
Fees, fees everywhere.

I'm sure, when you bake it, would it help to go into lighting and build GI lighting? Or is that not the lighting your talking about?
