I'm think of buying invector controller, but i'm worried about the lack of ranged AI. Is it possible to make the AI use guns and take cover? Somebody done it already and would be willing to share some experience?

We're working on a new AI with fire weapons, there is no release date yet though.

thats the problem. So i think i would like to buy now and implement shooting for myself- but i don't know how flexible is the current AI system- how complicated is adding another behaviour like shoot or move to cover?

You definitely need advanced C# and mecanim knowledge to do that, if you know your way around this you could give a shot, otherwise wait for the next updates.

As soonas your enemy can walk, you have to deal with different move states, pathfinding,... The controller has just really basic AI, which is totally fine. I would recommend to add some AI assets to your wishlist and wait for the next sale ;-)

I'll make it complex later- right now my problem is much smaller I just need to make it hold ranged weapon , aim and shoot. just like the normal ai but different weapon. The current ai has a chase state- and inside it - it calls a melee attack Now i need to make it the same but handle a ranged weapon. For now at least i want the ai to hold ranged weapon in the right way

For now at least i want the ai to hold ranged weapon in the right way I get the impression that if Ranged combat AI was as simple as making Melee combat AI but replacing the sword/axe with a gun, Invector would have probably already released a basic Combat AI for their Shooter Template. (I can't be sure about that mind you) I'm willing to bet there's some complexities involved in handling the ranged targeting aspect of the AI code. Again I can't be certain about that because I'm not an advanced enough C# user to properly make these judgements, just my thoughts. Good luck getting things going! Why don't you try multiplayer instead, then you won't need AI :P? (I know that's not a solution that's just another problem, but hey..you'll get to play with friends?)

The project itself is very complicated- to the point that I think i cant modify it.Holding a weapon aiming and shooting - aren't complicated. I did it before- but on this project its jut crazy complicated.I cant find any kind of documentation on invector (is there?)Basicly i'm stuck with this monster of a project and the developer refuses to refund me

Sorry, but I don‘t get your point... You asked about the ranged AI and Invector responded, that they‘re working on it, but don‘t have an ETA yet. Then you still bought the controller (with the knowledge, that there is no ranged AI) and now you want a refund, because there is no ranged AI?!?

arie1994 If you so desperately need ranged AI right this minute, then you can use AI Designer Pro or ICE Creature Control, however you say that you have made AI hold and shoot weapons before, then why not just do it again and use the needed damage methods from Invector??? Sounds like you are diving into something without any sort of plan on what or how you want to accomplish the task.

I think it's pretty hard to miss the documentation, they are very easy to find it: And about your questions so far (in the private chat) you complain about the cursor in the screen which is very easy to manipulate, also about how to setup sound effects for punch's and kicks which we provide a demo scene fully setup, you just need to open the demo see how it works and copy to your own prefab. I really recommend you to watch a few tutorials, within 5~10 minutes you will learn A LOT and the complexity of the project will disappear. There is no other character controller easier to use then ours, that's for sure.
